Things I will miss about Korea....

Beef and Leaf (okay just the beef and Pork kalbi, not the standard octopus, kimchi, etc that comes along with it)

Chilsung Cider (It's like American Sprite only better)

Korean Coca Cola (yes it tastes better than the states)

Korean McDonalds (also tastes better than the states)

Daiso (it's an amazing dollar store x 1000!)

Convenience store and coffee shops on every corner and I mean every corner

Being able to drag my feet, I'm pretty sure it's socially acceptable to drag your feet here ~ always remember my mom yelling at me to pick up my feet :)

The train! It makes it so easy to get around! (and it's cheap!)

The little kids ~ they are so cute here, all the girls are dressed in pink and the little boys are too LOL I love when they know how to say hello :)

The driving laws, Stop signs and red lights are optional, if no one is coming, you GO!

Skin Food and Face Shop ~ and all the other 5 billion skin care places around

Kiochon wings! They are triple fried and have garlic infused in them :)

Korean cucumbers

Ono's ~ love their wings and melon pops :)

The Ville ~ cheap purses, shoes, jersey's, hats, gloves, socks, movies, video games, knick knacks, mink blankets :)

The fact that Korean's love golf

Being able to talk shit when you are out and about because usually no one knows what the hell you're talking about

The work out equipment that is EVERYWHERE

Happy Wok! American Chinese restaurant with the BEST Jack Daniels Chicken and Pork

Chongs ~ a restaurant with the biggest omelet you will ever see in your life

Hmmmm thats's all I can think of for now, but I will surely add things as I think of them :)

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 14

Day 14 is someone I could not imagine my life without, and that is Josh and our furkids, Cooper, Layla, and Zoey :) Love them with all my heart!

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 13

Day 13 is a picture of my favorite music artist ~ I love, love, love Lenny Kravitz! He's amazing and quite sexy, too :)

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 11 and 12

Day 11 is something I hate and that is drama! Life would be so much better without it!

Day 12 is something I love and that is the sunrise on Hilton head Island ~ Gorgeous!

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 10

Day 10 is the person I do the most messed up things with and again, that's my sweet hubby. We have a fun and crazy time no matter what we are doing and where we are at :)

Mil Spouse Friday Fill-In (compliments of Wife of a Sailor)

1. Aside from no deployments, what is one thing you would want to make the MilSpouse life “perfect”?

The 2 places we have been so far have not had any support for spouses, and with being in Korea right now, that would be a super thing to have. There is a lot more support for people with children, but unfortunately we don't have kids, so people without kids get lost in the shuffle.

2. Just how many peppers did Peter Piper pick?

Hmmm a bakers dozen? LOL

3. If you could have any career in the world with nothing holding you back, what would you do?

I would definitely be a child Psychologist :)

4. Do you have a service oriented tattoo and if so what is it. If you don’t what would you get?

I do not have a service oriented tattoo, I will leave that up to my hubby to get LOL I prefer the girly tattoos I have :)

5. Imagine a block of time has opened up in your busy day for you to take a class in anything you like. What subject would you choose?

Anything that has to do with being a pastry chef ~ I want to learn how to decorate cakes and bake lots of goodies :)

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 9

Day 9 is a picture of someone who has gotten me through the most, and that would be myself. I have been blessed with awesome coping skills thanks to my parents, and I have always tried to take charge of my own life. When my dad passed away, I dealt with things myself and with the help of my mom. I have friends back home that didn't even contact me at that time. I have learned not to rely on people, because when you need them, they are usually not there :(

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 8

Day 8 is a picture that makes me laugh LOL This is my silly hubby sitting by my mom's pool a few summers ago with his Miller lite and her sun hat on :) no matter what, Josh can always make people smile and laugh, it is definitely one of his greatest qualities :)

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 6 and 7

Day 6 is someone I would like to trade places with for a day ~ Dr. Phil :) I love him, his attitude, his brain, and the way he works with people with all sorts of problems. I want to go to his show and meet him in person someday :)

day 7 is a picture of my most treasured item ~ I had to pic my adorable furbabies, except Zoey is missing from the picture. I love my furkids! they don't talk back and they are awesome company, and trust me I cherish them being here in Korea with me since most days I am here alone.

The 6 month countdown is on :)

So Josh and I have finally hit our 6 month countdown to moving back to the states :) It's an extremely exciting feeling, but now we wait.... It seems as though we should have orders by now, but we haven't heard a word. We have some ideas of where we might go, but the Army likes to throw surprises in the mix, so I guess we will wait. Nice thing is, time goes fast here, Thank God! Some days I don't know how it goes so fast, because I have so much time on my hands. Josh just went back to work after a few day cycle break and having all his wisdom teeth cut out. Thing is, he doesn't work a normal schedule. He leaves at 4:30 AM, and if it's a good day he may arrive home before 7:00 PM. And that's not just Monday to Friday, that includes most weekends :( All those nice 3 and 4 day weekends for holidays, yea he doesn't get those either. When he got the instructor position in April, they should have canceled our command sponsorship and sent me home. This is not a position to have your family along for the ride. We came to Korea off of 4 years of Recruiting Duty, and that is a tough life. Lots and lots of hours and stress, but in all honesty how we live now makes recruiting look like a dream. Don't get me wrong, I am very blessed to be here with him, to have him home and safe every night, and have him not be deployed, but I must thank God everyday for the strength of our marriage, because it's definitely a stressful situation. I think that's why I get so bitter when I see people complaining that their husband doesn't get home til 5 or 6 PM and may have to work a Saturday here or there. The military is a rough life and not for everyone, but we all handle things differently. I thank my parents for instilling independence in me, so I can keep myself occupied without going crazy and the coping skills I have gained over the years. But anyway, I got off topic, and the point of this post ~ we now have less than 6 months left in Korea!! Let the countdown begin :)

30 Day Photo Challenge ~ Day 2

A picture of the person I have been closest to the longest is my mom Judy AKA Frieda :) As with any mother and daughter, we did not always had the closest relationship (teenage years!), but after we got through that, and when I went away to college, she became my best friend. Leaving her behind in PA to move to Korea was very hard for me, but she has spread her wings and is doing fine on her own. I love her more than anything, and she is such a supporter of Josh and I. I can't wait until we are back in the states, so it will be easier to visit ~ I love you, Mom!

I have been seeing a lot of people doing this challenge on Facebook, so I decided I will give it a shot, except I will do it on my Blog, since I have been a blog slacker LOL Josh was off work for almost 2 weeks which was excellent, but when he's off we get so wrapped up in each other that we both become slackers. Not gonna lie, I LOVE when we are slackers together :)

Mil Spouse Friday Fill-In (compliments of Wife of a Sailor)

1. Since most of the country has had nasty weather, what has your weather been like this week?
We are fortunately and unfortunately missing the crazy weather in the US. Korea comes with it's own crazy weather, however. It's been awesome temps this week though in the hi 30's during the day which is sweet :) Definitely beats the many weeks of not getting over 15 degrees and often dipping below zero at night. Sure would love some more snow though!

2. What is/are your best money saving tip(s)?
I used a lot of coupons back in the states, but not so much here :( We decide a menu for the week and shop for only that when grocery shopping "trying" to stay away from any extras (junkfood)

3. What was your favorite vehicle you’ve ever owned??
My favorite car was a white 1996 Chevy Cavalier the first year they were re-designed. It looked good, drove good, and made me feel like a "superstar" LOL

4. What is a question you’d like to see asked in a future fill-in? (Your question & blog just may appear one week!)
If you could have any career in the world with nothing holding you back, what would you do??

5. Fill in the blank: You might be a MilSpouse if….
You know you can never make plans ahead of time, because the Army always finds ways to change them

McDonalds

You may see the word McDonalds and think big deal, I just ate there yesterday (we did actually), but McDonalds is a pretty big deal when you live in a foreign country. Actually that and any other American Restaurant you may come across. It took us almost 2 months to find a McDonalds in Korea when I got here, and it was kind of a project to get there, but boy oh boy was it worth it! You could not even imagine how good it tastes when it's not readily accessible to you and on every other street. It's delicious!! In the states, you can use the drive thru anytime you are craving some french fries or maybe thirsty for a big sweet tea :) We haven't braved the drive thru here, it's sometimes hard enough to order face to face with the language barrier, but oh so worth it. The McDonalds in our area is a short train ride away or a pain in the ass car ride away with the traffic. But they just closed it down and remodeled it, and geez they went all out! I'm talking high class McD's! Should take some pics, because it puts the U.S McD's to shame :) But anyways..... as we were driving to McD's yesterday we were very close to our house where they have been building something, that kind of looked like a bank, and lo and behold on the front of the building is a banner saying "coming soon McDonalds" I'm pretty sure Josh and I almost did a little jig of happiness :) Most importantly because it's within walking distance of our apartment! Don't get me wrong, we don't want a steady diet of McDonalds, but everything in Korea is a project and to just have something so close made us feel like we were stateside again. Oh and because we love the Choco Oreo McFlurry ;)
